Life is meant to be spent in fellowship with others, but as humans, we twist that need into total dependency, codependency, and enmeshment; or, ironically, the antipathy of those: isolation, solitude, and I don't need anyone attitude. Jesus told me that this is wrong. When we put Christ first, the relationships and people he brings into our lives help us to grow into better versions of ourselves. If our saviour chose to live as a friend to all, how can we not make the same choice? Not as codependent or independent person, but as a fully functioning, interdependent individual who values and esteems others and seeks to understand god's nature more deeply.
