2/28/2016 0 Comments No Fear “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. Isaiah 43: 1b-2 Just let the magnitude of those verses sink in to your mind. No matter what we go through, no matter what life throws at us, we are His. He knows our names! Occasionally, I still experience bad days or even bad weeks like last week. Times when everything seems to be working against me and I feel like I am drowning in wrong turns and wrong decisions. Times when it feels like no one wants to know me and I am about to be swept away into oblivion then I hear the gentle reminder of God’s Grace. Jumping into the worst case scenario used to be a way of life for me. But now I have a life preserver in the deep end of the ocean. Even when the swells threaten overtake me, I trust in the one who knows my name. My fear dissipates with faith. Once the storm has passed, or the flames have died to embers, whichever metaphor you prefer, the joy of realized redemption is incredible. I am His, He knows my name, how can I doubt His deliverance? This week, I feel emboldened to walk into the flames that singe the soles of my shoes. I have a hope and an optimism about what is to come. This life is good and God is great. The melancholy swing of the of the seasons of my life can’t change my God. God pulled me through a small depression last week, He will get me through whatever I face this week. Good things are on the horizon, no fear just faith are the forecast for the future.
