A mantle full!
Five days until Christmas! So much joy and excitement in the air, the anticipation is amazing. I love that all my kids are home. The college boy, the Marine, and the high schooler are all hanging out together and annoying their older sister like old times. The door is always opening with another friend of one of the kids dropping by to say “Hi!” The life and vitality is back in my home.
I am overjoyed that the meaning of Christmas is alive and vibrant in my home this year. The beauty of the nativity that my grandmother made me years ago greets me as I walk down stairs in the morning, and the handcrafted cross she made me hangs in the hallway I walk down to make it to the kitchen. I remember the Christmases of the past with fondness and anticipate the present holiday with joy. So be prepared for more posts than usual, and recurring themes. The Holidays haven’t always been great in this house so I am speaking grace and mercy into my family’s gatherings this year. I don’t want the presents; I just want his presence.
It may go awry of my plans, but will never go awry of God’s Will!
